Some of my teeth have become sensitive and my gums have definitely receded because I need to floss practically after every time I eat something. Can this be due to using a Sonic toothbrush? I’ve been using a Sonic toothbrush now for over 3 yrs. Should I stop using this and go back to using a normal toothbrush or could it just be my age – I’m 64 yrs old – as my dentist says?
There is no evidence of gum recession being caused by using a sonicare toothbrush – so your ok . Recession is due to gum disease and bone loss that occurs. Age has a small factor but mainly previous or ongoing gum disease will cause recession. Ask your dentist to provide you a gingival prosthesis that will fill the gaps.
