I was wondering if it’s possible to perform a root canal to the upper right second premolar with short root ( the root of this particular premolar is much shorter than normal, shown on x-ray) to save the tooth from extraction, currently the premolar is in wobbling condition and the gum around it is swelling.

Root canal treatment on short roots + mobile tooth is not a good idea as the long term prognosis can be poor

Difficult to advice as we have not seen the radiographs
