I have an abscess on my gum but pain is coming from back of mouth where there is no tooth, I also have titanium plates/screws Is it possible that they have come through and could this be the reason for the pain? Thanks

Pain that is felt away from the site of an abscess is very common due to the pain being referred or radiating. If you have an abscess on your gum then do get it seen to as soon as you can particularly I the case of pain symptoms. Also it is possible that the plates may become compromised so even more reason to see your dentist.

All the best,
