I had a tooth exrtaction 9 days ago and I’m still in pain. I have a sharp little bone sticking through my gum that is very sore and uncomfortable. The dentist said this is normal and put me on antibiotics for a week. I am a bit concerned as my gum has started to grow over this bone and my cheek constantly rubs against it giving me pain. The dentist says it will settle but I’m sure it’s not right.

It could either be a little fragment of tooth remaining or some sharp bone which your dentist could smooth down. If you are in pain please return to treating dentist and ask for assistance.
