Just looking for a little advice here.

Recently had my lower right wisdom tooth removed. It has been a week since, and my bite feels slightly off than usual. will this correct itself in time?

Also perhaps unrelated, but worsened since the operation are the symptoms I am having with my jaw. When i was a little younger, i was hit in the jaw, and ever since it has clicked once in a while on the right side, and could hear a kind of squishy sound in my ear. now it locks and clicks much more frequently, my jaw muscles feel like they are being overworked and are tired all the time. Any advice?

Thanks

The change in the bite could be due to a number of reasons:

-Perceived not real
-A real change in the bite due to the loss of a tooth.
-due to the injection ie muscle bruising -due to the surgical trauma of extracting the tooth
– Due to stretching of jaw joint ligaments during the extraction.

All of these should resolve themselves in due course.

If the joint symptoms are related to the extraction then the joint symptoms should resolve also but may not. If symptoms persist then you should get a proper check up from your dentist and if necessary a referral to a joint specialist who can treat the joint condition.

I hope this helps,
