hi there, i was having very bad toothache on my bottom gum, the back tooth, and i have had it filled today, the anesthetic has worn off and i am experiencing bad toothache is this normal?and how can i ease the pain, ive had this pain since about 1 oclock this afternoon and ive taken paracetamol and co-codomal and its just constant pain

Dear Kelly,

The best course of action is to call the practice where you had your filling done because they will be in the best position to know what you have had done and waht kind of discomfort you can rightly expect or otherwise.

For dental pain a most effective painkiller regime is to take ibuprofen 200 or 400mg 4 times a day and if you need take 1 or 2 paracematmol tablets in between.
