Hey, about a month ago, maybe less I had a tooth out, the dentist had some trouble getting it out, there was loads of blood etc… Anyway went back and turned out I had a dry socket, it was packed and was given anti-biotics, which made me really ill. My mother spoke to the dentist, he told me to stop taking them, a week later I went back and he said it was fine, just keep washing out with the salt water. My question is recently I noticed something sort of.. Forming, at first I thought it was a scab but it wasn’t right on the spot the tooth was taken out, it was near the gum but not the “hole”? Anyway today as I was eating this “thing” fell out, there was some blood and the thing looked white/yellowish in colour, sort of like a thick scab but not at all transparent, it smelt real bad… Could you please tell me what this was? Should I go back to the dentist?

If it was hard then it may have been a piece of bone If so nothing to worry about

Difficult to say exactly what it was If in doubt go back and see your dentist On the other hand perhaps wait and see how you get on

Best wishes
